The Flame Show is the rare art form comprised of light itself—just about every other visual art form relies on reflected light. Except for maybe… pyrotechnics? holiday light shows?… Being light itself opens a world of possibilities.

Play a flame show piece in a dark room where the screen is the only light. Turn up your screen brightness. You should see all the surfaces in the room look as though they are illuminated by a flame such as a candle—but one that flickers to the music! Pay attention to how the light reflects or refracts from surfaces or objects. Arrange your screen and objects etc. for the light show that looks best to you.

The flames from the show make fantastic GIFs. Grab some frames and your favorite GIF maker (we use GIMP). Make some GIF files and use or share them however you like.
